Classification

Schedule B

Also: export code · Schedule B number

The 10-digit US export classification administered by the Census Bureau, built on the same HS root as the HTS but used for export statistics, not duty.

Definition

Schedule B is the code you use when exporting from the United States. Like the HTS it is 10 digits on the six-digit HS root, but it exists for statistical tracking of exports rather than charging duty.

Its 7–10 digit breakouts differ from the HTS's, so an HTS import code is not always a valid Schedule B export code. Use HTS for imports and Schedule B for exports.
